Chess is an amazing game that challenges the player to THINK and develop strategies to problem solve and accomplish wins. Chess is also social and the fundamentals of the game teach players patience, perseverance, grit, determination, disappointment, and yes, manners.
Novice Chess is played after-school @ MIS every Tuesday from 3:40 pm to 4:50 pm. It is limited to 6 players per session and played under social distancing, wearing a mask, and not touching pieces. Students can enjoy a snack before play brought from home. All students will be required to wash their hands thoroughly before chess play/instruction begins.
Players can enroll for 5 sessions or 10 sessions.
